CS Electrical CQ – Terms and Conditions of Quotation and Service

These Terms and Conditions apply to all quotations, works, and invoices issued by CS Electrical CQ:

1. Acceptance of Quote and Works

By accepting a quotation or instructing CS Electrical CQ to commence works (whether verbally or in writing), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Acceptance is deemed to occur upon approval of the quote or commencement of any works.

2. Quotation Validity

All quotations are valid for a period of 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. After this time, pricing and availability may be subject to change.

3. Payment Terms

  • Full payment is due within 7 days of completion of works unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • A deposit of up to 50% may be required prior to commencement of works.

  • CS Electrical CQ reserves the right to withhold commencement or completion of works until any required deposit is received.

  • Overdue accounts may incur interest at a rate of 5% per month, calculated from the due date until paid in full.

  • Accounts unpaid after 30 days may be referred to a debt collection agency. All recovery costs, including legal and collection fees, will be payable by the client.

4. Ownership of Materials

  • All materials, fittings, and installed components remain the property of CS Electrical CQ until full payment has been received.

  • CS Electrical CQ reserves the right to remove any unpaid materials or components where it is safe and lawful to do so.

  • The client will be liable for any damage or loss resulting from tampering with or unauthorised removal of installed materials prior to full payment.

5. Access and Site Conditions

  • The client must provide safe, clear, and reasonable access to the work site for the duration of the works.

  • Furniture, obstructions, and hazards must be removed or made safe prior to our arrival.

  • All pets must be restrained during attendance.

  • CS Electrical CQ reserves the right to refuse or cease work if the site is deemed unsafe.

  • Any delays, additional labour, or costs resulting from restricted access, unsafe conditions, or undisclosed hazards will be charged to the client.

6. Variations and Additional Work

Any variations or additional work not included in the original quotation will be subject to additional charges. Where possible, approval will be obtained prior to proceeding.

7. Warranties

  • A 5-year workmanship warranty applies from the date of completion.

  • Manufacturer warranties apply to all supplied materials and equipment where applicable.

  • Warranties will be void where issues arise due to misuse, neglect, unauthorised modifications, or third-party interference.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, CS Electrical CQ shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage;

  • Delays caused by factors beyond our control, including weather, supplier delays, or site conditions;

  • Damage to existing structures or property unless caused by proven negligence.

9. Cancellation and Non-Attendance

To ensure efficient scheduling and minimise disruption to other clients, adequate notice must be provided for any changes to confirmed bookings.

  • Cancellations or rescheduling requests made with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a $250 late cancellation fee.

  • If our technicians attend site and are unable to commence or complete works due to any of the following, a $250 service call/cancellation fee will apply:

    • No access to the property at the agreed time

    • Required person not present on site

    • Work area not cleared or safe

    • Required services (e.g. power, approvals, or site readiness) unavailable

    • Any undisclosed issue preventing works from proceeding

The client is responsible for ensuring the site is ready, safe, and accessible at the scheduled time. Additional charges may apply for return visits, extended labour, or rescheduling.

10. Travel and Fuel Charges

CS Electrical CQ reserves the right to apply a travel charge or fuel levy to cover the cost of travel to and from the job site.

Travel charges may be applied based on distance from our base of operations or where travel time exceeds a reasonable local service area.

A fuel levy may also be applied where there are significant increases in fuel costs or for works located in remote or regional areas.

Any applicable travel charges or fuel levies will be outlined in the quotation where possible or advised prior to commencement of works.

11. Defects / Callbacks

  • Any call-outs, inspections, or remedial works requested by the client that are not related to defective workmanship or materials supplied by CS Electrical CQ may be chargeable at standard service rates.

  • CS Electrical CQ reserves the right to assess whether a reported issue is covered under warranty or constitutes a chargeable service.

  • Where an issue is determined to be caused by factors outside of our workmanship (including misuse, pre-existing faults, third-party interference, or external conditions), all associated costs including labour, materials, and travel will be payable by the client.

12. Force Majeure

  • CS Electrical CQ shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations where such delay or failure is caused by events beyond its reasonable control.

  • Such events may include, but are not limited to, extreme weather, natural disasters, supply chain disruptions, illness, accidents, power outages, or government restrictions.

  • In such circumstances, CS Electrical CQ will make reasonable efforts to reschedule and complete the works as soon as practicable.

13. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
